Easter Weekend

Firstly, I’m not quite sure how it’s been a month since I last posted on here. Time sure does fly when you’re having fun…or just insanely busy as I felt I’ve been lately.

This weekend in the UK has been Easter bank holiday weekend, which means a four day weekend, two extra days off work and a lot of chocolate and fun to be had. I actually really look forward to Easter; there’s something quite relaxing about those four days, and in a way, though the atmosphere is not quite the same, it feels very similar to Christmas.

This weekend is the perfect time to spend with friends and family, and my boyfriend obviously, as well as a chance to sit back and relax. Work has been crazy busy recently, so when I found myself with no plans a free house on Good Friday, I really enjoyed chilling on the sofa, watching films and of course, eating a lot of snacks. I really needed time to just do nothing, and it’s something I haven’t had the chance to do for quite a long time. I’m usually busy pretty much every single weekend, which I like as I like to appreciate every moment I have off work and to make the most of it, but it does mean that I don’t have a lot of time to have a day of literally doing nothing.

Saturday was a day of doing things, and as the weather was so lovely, my boyfriend and I had a drive down to Broadstairs in Kent. The weather was perfect, it wasn’t too busy and we had a wonderful day strolling along the beach and along the seafront. Broadstairs is without a doubt one of my favourite places to visit in England, having gone there a lot with my parents when we used to have our caravan in Acol. It was lovely to visit there again and to remember all the childhood memories I had there with my mum and dad. It was also my boyfriends first visit to Broadstairs, so it was nice showing him around and sharing this special place with him.

After a busy day in Broadstairs on Saturday, Sunday was another relaxing day, filled with family visits, watching Rogue One with my boyfriend, playing board games, and having a delicious Sunday roast cooked by my step mum. It was a really lovely day, even if the weather wasn’t as beautiful as it was on Saturday!

Today looks set to hopefully be another great day, as when I eventually decide to get out of bed and get ready for the day I’ll be going out for a pub lunch with a few of my friends. The perfect end to a lovely four day weekend. I just hope today doesn’t go as fast as the last few days have, which is far too quickly! Although I’ll have to admit defeat and head back to the office tomorrow morning, I’m going to appreciate every last second of today and make the most of having an extra day off.
